Snorkel or dive at some of the best known dive sites off Cairns such as Flynn, Milln and Thetford reefs for their abundance of marine life. The sites offer excellent wall dives, swim-throughs and overhangs, great for both novice and experienced divers. you can expect to see an abundance of fish species, hard corals such as staghorn, table, plate and boulder coral, and many species of soft corals.

Your day begins as you board the boat at Marlin Wharf. The ultra modern 29 meter catamaran will be your base for the day. Throughout the day you'll visit three different locations which may include Thetford, Milln and Flynn Reef. Each stop showcases a different aspect of the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. At each site you have the choice to snorkel, dive or a combination of both.

If you have never tried scuba diving you can choose to do one or two introductory dives, or you may prefer to stick to snorkeling and explore all three sites from the surface. A crew member will take those interested on a guided snorkel tour at one of the reef locations. Certified divers can choose to partake in up to three certified dives. Whatever you choose, your Outer Great Barrier Reef Dive and Snorkel Cruise includes up to five hours in the water.

The friendly crew will be happy to answer any questions you have throughout the day. The boat features full bar facilities, fresh water showers and expansive sun-decks overlooking the Coral Sea. A tropical buffet lunch will be served between sites, along with morning and afternoon tea.

We recommend you book this reef trip on your first full available day. You then have the opportunity to be flexible and change your travel date if you wish. Your booking can be changed at no additional cost directly with the operator once you are in Cairns. Prebook and secure your booking, but relax in knowing you can make amendments at no charge.

After a single scuba dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.

Beware when booking - this company can't decide if they are sailing or not and really messed us around. They have a high minimum number (around 24 ish) and if they don't meet that number they don't sail. We booked a whole 2 week trip around this tour which was subsequently cancelled by the company. We were moved to another boat in another town and had to rearrange our trip around this. This cost us money and so we were pretty angry when they ran the original tour anyway. I'm sure its a fun trip but beware when booking.

Seeing all the colourful fish on the outter reef. The coral gardens were devastating to see, returning after 20 years of bleaching. Pity Aviator had not updated Silverswift of my booking change which was annoying from both Silverswift and my own perspective.

Had a flawless day out diving and snorkelling the reef out of Cairns. Professional staff cater for all skills levels and experience, great food!, and comfortable vessel. Don’t come to Cairns without visiting the reef. Even snorkelling out there is often sensory overload.

Snorkelling on the 3 different reefs was amazing. The reef, the fish, the helpful staff meant it was a a great day on board and in the water. Lunch and snacks provided kept you well fuelled and energised to make the most of the experience.

We had three snorkels at different locations within Flynn Reef. Each was a little different. Whilst the coral was patchy there were loads of fish to see. We also saw turtles, giant clams and reef sharks. We also spotted a pod of dolphins off in the distance. The boat isn't as large as some of the others but was very comfortable, although there wasn't a lot of seating outdoors. Everything was well managed and the food was good and plentiful. There are fresh water showers & change rooms, both of which were handy to have.

We had a great day out, staff great and plenty to each and drink. On time and plenty of informing and guidelines while on boat. All equipment excellent and clean ship and enough room for sitting etc. my only issue was it was difficult to hear instructions, especially out the back, l have perfect hearing and struggled to hear what was being said, so l think either a video or loudspeaker especially if you are standing at the back, even inside his voice was low at times and was not able to be heard. This can be dangerous or cause issues with some people. The first stop was not as good as hoped as not a lot of fish or interesting sea coral etc. third snorkel was the best and though choppy was so interesting and full of different fish, take two towels and easy change of clothes for in between dives as you have to sit for lunch and not in wet clothes.staff were wonderful

Great diving with Pedro - saw so much such as rays, reef sharks, abt 10 barracudas, cods, wrasse, trigger fishes etc. lots of swim through, healthy marine life and many giant clams. A real delight when one is time poor. Staff was very helpful and equipment was in good condition.

Excellent day out on the outer reef. It was rough getting out there so I was glad the entire family took sea sickness tablets beforehand. But once we arrived, the conditions were calm being surrounded by the Barrier Reef. There was 11 of us in total including 5 children. We all had a fantastic day. 3 of us dived, lovely coral and fish, turtles and a reef shark to see at the 3 dive sites. The rest of the group snorkeled and it was still excellent with lovely fish and coral to see. Lots of food and drinks served so there was no need to bring anything except a towel and swimmers!

One of the best trips. The snorkeling and diving was excellent. The organisation to get everybody ready for their dive and snorkeling were done well. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Will definitely do this again. Highly recommend this trip!!
